ACID transactions in a monolithic application are a great, powerful and simple tool, that helps us guaranteeing data consistency inside our application.
But... what happens when we move from monolithic applications to distributed systems? We don't have ACID transactions in a big database anymore, and there is also a choice to make regarding the CAP theorem. But... is all hope lost? Or can we still somehow have transactions across service boundaries?
In this talk we will try to understand that complexity, see some alternatives, and how the *SAGA pattern *comes to the rescue here

Hotelbeds group is one of the leading bedbanks in the world, a global distributor of accommodation based in Palma de Mallorca, with an offering of more than 170.000 hotels and up to 1.500 Million request per day.
In the last two years Hotelbeds Group has undergone a profound technical transformation from an old monolythic on premise architecture to a microservices cloud-native architecture. Nowadays a big chunk of our monolyth has been transformed into java microservices deployed on cloud and we are already processing all our bookings on cloud. We have also moved to the cloud our availability engine, distributed to several locations accross the globe to be closer to the clients and reduce latencies.
This talk is about the path we followed on this fascinating journey, the decisions taken and lessons learned, as well as some insight on our future challenges.

En esta charla se abordan los principales retos de la robótica y la automatización y sus principales influencias en el mundo futuro.
Hablaremos de robótica humanoide, social y asistencial, y también de la automatización en los sectores más importantes de la sociedad.Y todo ello con un denominador común: la investigación desarrollada por el grupo de investigación RoboticsLab de la Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.

Me gustaría ofrecer un taller práctico en el que exponer código que está funcionando actualmente en proyectos reales con multitud de smell codes, código espagueti, duplicidades...y mostrar sugerencias o mejoras sobre el mismo. Trucos sobre refactors o como reducir deuda técnica. Hacer hincapié sobre las buenas prácticas y los beneficios que nos puede aportar. Y, sobre todo, me gustaría hacerlo de forma participativa escuchando opiniones de todos.
(como es una respuesta que he visto después, en realidad, la chara es para un nivel de iniciación-intermedio).
